About the role

SCR is looking for an MRI Modality Lead to oversee our large MRI departments full-time.

The primary focus of the MRI Modality Lead is to provide high quality and efficient MRI services to our patients and referrers. The MRI Modality Lead plans, coordinates and assists management in the day-to-day operations of MRI across the South Coast Radiology (SCR) fleet. The MRI Modality Lead trains and provides technical consultation to technologists who utilise the MRI equipment ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment, and maintaining established protocols and procedures across SCR.

The MRI Modality Lead reports to the Operations Manager, works closely with Regional Managers, Site Radiographers in Charge and is responsible for ensuing best practice in patient interaction and quality imaging.

 

The main outcomes for this role are too:

Review day-to-day performance of all MRI equipment across SCR in consultation with the Clinical Leadership Committee and Radiologist review and create sequencing protocols to improve efficiency and clinical outcomes.
Supervising technologists in using MRI imaging equipment to conduct appropriate examinations.
Liaise with Booking Centre to provide education to ensure patient protocols and bookings are performed correctly.
Ensure patient protocols and patient bookings are performed correctly.
Provide training, technical direction and consultation to staff while identifying and addressing performance issues.
Provide training and technical direction to SCR and technologists in the procedures and techniques used in imaging MRI examinations.
Assisting in troubleshooting all equipment failures and challenges.
Ensuring compliance standards are met.
Participating in education programs in MRI techniques.
Creating and reviewing sequencing protocols for particular examinations under the guidance of the radiologists.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all staff.

 

About you

Essential:

Hold a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations) in Radiography or accepted equivalent.
A minimum of 8 years + clinical Radiography experience
Current AHPRA and ASMIRT registration
ASMIRT Level 1 Certificate
Australian Residency – Rights to work in Australia.
Established professional competence and knowledge within a clinic setting.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and other medical and non-medical personnel.
Demonstrated professional competence and knowledge within a clinic setting including expertise with MRI equipment.

 

Desirable:

Ability to determine priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience on GE MRI Scanners
A willingness to participate in further education and continued professional development program.
A commitment to outstanding patient care
Current QLD Radiation Use licence
