The Role:

As part of the Division of Surgery, this position exists to provide a quality MRI imaging service to patients and referrers. An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, forward thinking, qualified Medical Imaging Technologist to the join the team at the RCH. The successful candidate will be expected to perform in a Grade 2 capacity as per the Job Description and will have Level 1 MRI accreditation (AIR) and have formal or working towards Post Graduate MRI qualifications.

This position is currently a fixed term appointment but could become on-going in the near future.

Previous Paediatric experience would be an advantage but not essential.

The Royal Children’s Hospital, together with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) have Siemens Magnatom Aera 1.5T and 3T Trio units in a purpose built MRI clinical and research facility. In the operating theatre suite there is an Imris Verio. A Siemens MR/PET is part of the suite of equipment, making the RCH a state of the art MRI facility. The RCH is currently tendering for a new MRI 1.5 unit to be installed later in 2022.

The position requires participation in the weekend and after hour’s rosters as well as some on-call after a suitable training period.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

Diploma or degree in Applied Science/Diagnostic Radiography as outlined for eligibility for membership of the AIR.
Demonstration of appropriate experience within the Medical Imaging field.
