Primary objective Provide Medical Imaging services. Radiography, plus CT or Ultrasound for the Hospital and the surrounding communities of the East Arnhem Region. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Provide medical imaging services at the Hospital as required to assist with the diagnosis and therefore treatment of
patients.
2. Be able to participate in a 24-hour on-call cover so that a medical imaging service is available at all times.
3. Adhere to the radiation safety policy of the department to ensure minimum radiation exposure of patients and staff.
4. Work as part of the health care team to maintain the quality of the radiology service.
5. Assist with sonographic interpretation, where appropriate.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
7. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour. Selection criteria Essential
1. Degree in Medical Imaging.
2. Eligibility for the registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for CT/Rad applicants
plus Australian Sonographer Accreditation Agency (ASAR) for Radiographer/Sonographer applicants.
3. Relevant postgraduate experience.
4. Ability to work as a member of a small team and to communicate clearly with other radiographers, medical and nursing
staff.
5. Ability to communicate with the patients from a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.
6. Knowledge of general practices and procedures applicable to general radiology and sonography. |
