ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking Sonographer to be based in picturesque Sunbury, and work across our Western region including our Melton and North Melbourne practices. Just over half an hour from Melbourne’s CBD, Sunbury is one of Victoria’s oldest wine regions, renowned for it’s vineyards, historical sites and finest local produce.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
Conduct patient clinical assessment and perform the diagnostic medical sonography examination ordered by the supervising physician.
As necessary, acquire additional ultrasound imaging to facilitate optimum diagnostic results for the interpreting physician.
Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare the preliminary findings.
Assist with the daily operation of the sonography facility.

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

Graduate Diploma or Masters of Medical Sonography accredited by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
Have demonstrable experience as a Sonographer including the ability to perform high quality medicine imaging examinations within a clinical setting
Clinical, practical and interpretive skills to obtain high quality ultrasound images
Observe, analyse, provide diagnostic and recording skills
Possess the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
The flexibility to work between sites
Demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills
Be committed to your own professional development, including embracing ongoing learning as part of professional development
Good interpersonal skills in order to show patients care, compassion and empathy
